Christmas is here

Time has caught up with us and it is now Christmas Eve. The house is straight (well my tidy) and all the food is ready to be cooked. All I need to do is get up at 5.00 (that is not a typing error!!!) to put the turkey in then back to bed.  There is only Peter and I here but things still need to be done properly.  Can't see my present under the tree yet!

Photos with a little instruction - no problem

What a lovely car!!!

Uploading photos from the PC is no problem - all I need to solve now is uploading them from my Ipad as that is where most of my photos are.

Bath time for some of the ducks.  It doesn't get any better in our household.

A dilemma with nature

Peter and I were in the summer house (read garden shed but was originally built to be my summer house), making kitchen doors! When I saw a streak of bright blue above the pond.  Seconds later out from the pond flew a kingfish bright blue and orange.  Unfortunately in its mouth it had one of my fish.

Now I like birds and I do think we should let nature take its course but over the next 30 mins he came back and took 2 more fish.  That decided it, out came the netting.  He came back again for a fourth time but saw the netting.  He made a further 4 attempts before he gave up for the afternoon.

It is lovely to see such beautiful birds but I also want to keep my fish.  I am afraid he will have to go fishing in Rutland Water where are plenty of fish but of course these are probably more of a challenge as they are much bigger.

2013 nearly over

What a busy year we have had and now it is time to look forward to next year.  That is of course after Christmas!  All our travels have meant that work at home is very slow but at least we can remember this year as one where we were away at least once every month.  Our latest weekend away was up in the Harrogate area and what a great weekend we had, even had afternoon teas at Betty's ( and we don't "do" tea)



This month is a lot quieter only one weekend away and that was down in Milton Keynes - all the best places.  Now we are looking forward to the new year with so many trips planned for 2014.



My new hobby is certainly taking up a lot of time and now I have no shortage so all sorts of jewellery.  If only I could work out how to upload photos to this blog I would be able to show you.



It's a very slow learning curve for me!!!!!
